**IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FORMER MIIX INSUREDS** MIIX PRIOR ACTS EXCESS COVERAGE IS NOW AVAILABLE For those physicians who were insured with Medical Inter-Insurance Exchange (MIIX), this notice is vitally important to you.  Due to the liquidation of MIIX, all of its policies – occurrence, claims made, permanent protection and tail coverage – are now subject to the New Jersey Property Liability Insurance Guarantee Association (PLIGA) effective April 9, 2008.  However, PLIGA coverage will expire on April 9, 2009.  After this date there is no coverage for MIIX policyholders!! Cornerstone is pleased to offer a solution through Prior Acts Excess Coverage (PAEC) or Gap Coverage.   Several of our carriers have developed this special coverage designed just for former MIIX insureds, who are current insureds or new clients of theirs.   Physicians can now purchase this coverage to “fill” the gap created by the liquidation of MIIX.  This product will cover unreported incidents that occurred prior to the termination of coverage with MIIX.  This special protection will pay over and above any other valid collectable indemnity for losses that are initially reported during the reporting period.  Coverage is available over all prior MIIX policies and tails.
